Remeber the other day I mentioned a new blog that would start this weekend where you had to incorporate as many challenges as possible? Well, it starts now on sunday and I can't wait! Every other sunday she will make a very easy challenge- something that need one color to be in your work or one kind of product - not a theme and not a sketch. Sounds easy? Not so. The winner will be a person who'll manage to do maximum current challenges in that entry - and if you win she is going to check your post and every single challenge you said you did to varify that you are the "CHALLENGE QUEEN".
It seem like sooo much fun. i wonder what her record is? I want to beat it, lol.
The owner Irit is also having a candy to spread the word. Ends 11:th.
I have finished another one of my half-finished cards. I'm trying to clean up my table so I can make some sewing- and jewelryprojects soon. I have a bit of news to share, but for now you'll have to do with this card.
I made it following a sketch from the midnight madness blog. I had a hard time deciding what to do with the cross-details they have so I just skipped them. Didn't think they would fit at all on this card. I added a birthday sentiment instead inked with a rainbowpad and embossed with "turquoise sparkle" from reprint.
Today I managed to finish one of the fiftyeleven cards I have started on. This one is for a bunch of challenges. You would think I'm practicing for a new challengeblog where you need to incorporate as many challenges as possible. I think it starts this weekend. You can count on me joining in :)
Ok, so the first theme was "butterflies" at craftycatz - the second challenge on this new blog. I had this wonderful embossed butterfly paper for a while now and it was actually laying next to the flowery paper. Isn't that a fab match!
Speaking of flowers - that was the theme for this week's challenge on justmagnolia. And as usual I managed to miss the deadline :( I really wanted to join since there was a $50 giftcertificate to Simon says stamp for grabs. It's a bit annoting when it doesn't say when the deadline is. Since I'm usually done after midnight it doesn't matter for the american blogs, but it matters for the european ones if the deadline is at midnight. I made the tiny flower all by myself. Learned the tutorial last weekend when I went to the reopening of my local craftshop.
I also found "charms" at cute card thursday this week. I made the charm from a butterfly bead and hung it on a piece of chain.
I used a sketch from get sketchy. Turned it 90 degrees. The bonuschallenge was "brads" which I have in the corners of the card. They look like little buttons - matching the tiny buttons Tilda has on her shoes.
The image is from my friend Sharon. She has stamped the image on the most wonderful glitterpaper ever. Not sure if the pic makes it justice. I've kept one of the "nightphotos" because the glittery paper that the image is stamped on doesn't show on the "daypics". The paper is really stunning!
This week on the sugarbowlblog I've been playing with a great sketch and paper piecing. It definately was a challenge doing paperpiecing with this image, but it's the only Sugar Nellie I have right now so I had to "make it work" as Tim Gunn from project runway would say :) I have paperpieced the girl's hair and the two flowers. I've also painted on the paperpieces to give a little depth. I used a wonderful charm I picked up the other day - a watercan. I thought of the RAM stamp of a bunny that sits in a watercan, but since I don't have it...Thought I might just aswell use it for this card. Think it fits pretty well.
Promarkers:primrose, coral, berry red, umber, ruby, marsh green, old pantones: 467-T and warm red-T Papers: Basic grey: Wisteria Borderpunch: Fiskars
Here's a Christmascard I made for Simon says stamp. The challenge was to use colour red and green. I bought a whole pack of Christmaspapers a while back and hadn't had a chance to use them so now was the perfect opportunity.
3 different shapes (not including the card shape) 2 papers 1 ribbon
I'm not very happy with the way the hÄnglar turn out, but it was fun doing the really "matchy-matchy" image with red and green. I cut out a part of the paper where it said "jolly" and glued on her little sign.
Promarkers used: saffron, cinnamon, burnt sienna, forest green, emerald, berry red and ruby.
I want to draw your attention to a candy for a cause at Jude's blog. Since I'm now studying psychology I have read a tiny bit about this disease. I've read more about what happens in the brain on the neural level, but still. I'm sure most of you know what this disease does to someone.
You can help Jude by sending her craftitems for her to sell.
When it comes to the candy: the more people that enter her candy the bigger it will be. So spread the word, not only to get more goodies ;) but to make people aware and let Judy know we care.
Here are the loveliness so far. Candy ends october 29:th.
Here's what she says in her own words:
Yesterday we went to celebrate mum's birthday and good time had by all such a sad and cruel disease .Don't honestly think mum had any clue to what was going on mind. The home had given us alounge and when we entered they had decorated with banners ,birthday cake ,bucks fizz, and lovely spread ,which we didnt expect at all or asked for. As we were there i got to speak to one of the girls she is the lady who looks after there occupational needs and is trying to raise monies for hydro pool which in turn will help alot of the residence .So they are trying to do alot of fund raising. So when i get back ive promised to make cards and a few altered art items so they can sell to help fund raise . Im appealing to any crafters who wish to help please email me at; email@example.com . All donations greatly accepted can be from cards to altered art ,decorated note books, jewelery anything that you think they can sell at forth coming fund raising coffee mornings ,bazzars that they have palnned between now and christmas. They are not given enough funding to spend on occupying the residence as it is .This i feel is one thing that Alzheimers patients benefit from having there mind occupied. The lady who is doing this Maureen has some fab ideas but just hasnt got the money to do this out of the budget they are given. Dont feel you have to, but every thing donated will be truley appreciated and please email me if you think you can help. firstname.lastname@example.org hugs and thanks in advance judex
Wags 'n whiskers is a brand new stampcompany owned by Nikki Fairbairn and Lacey Stephens. Their images are based on their wonderful children and furry pets! Zoe and Danni are Nikki’s beautiful girls with their pets Gemma (the “fat” older cat in the logo) and Bella (Danni’s little kitten). Ansley is Lacey’s sweet daughter with her little Yorkshire Terrior (or Yorkie for short) named Princess. And Ryan is Lacey’s active son with his trusty doggie blanket named BoBo!
On october 9:th there will be a release and bloghop so go and sign up as a follower so you don't miss a thing! I think these stamps are going to be wonderful and a real hit, so I can't wait to see them! The cats on the logo are so full of personality. Can't wait to see the rest!
The company is also looking for a guest diva and I would love to join. I love animalstamps (although I haven't been playing with many lately). I have chosen one card that I'm very happy with, but also an animal one to show that I like to work with those too. I would love to be chosen for the GDT spot, so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me :)
Thought I'd show you the new beautiful stamps from sweet pea stamps. If you preorder and pay before october 12:th you save $4.50. And it's not like they are expensive anyway. The original price is $12 and with the preorder it's only $7.50. I really look forward to getting them in my DT package and show you what you can do with them!
