Cellphone holder

Today I thought I'd show you one of my finally finished projects - a casing for my cellphone. I often use my backpack or bags that don't have those special compartments, so I wanted to protect the phone from scratches. I used a pattern - or rather a description of how to make one - HERE at sew-mad. I love this blog - a lot of great tutorials.

The tutorial is quite easy to understand althogh if you're a dumbass like me you might need some extra fabric and patience, lol. I think this is my third try, I started with 2 camera casings first. I strongly recommend to cut out a pattern from your measurements. I just wrote mine up and thought I'd transfer it to the fabric, but when I cut out the fabric I noticed I had forgotten seamallowence around the flapcorners or something like that. If you make a pattern in paper you can put your phone/camera on it and see if it makes sense.

Anyhee, here's what I came up with, pretty discreet. I finished it yesterday by sewing on the last velcro (on the flap). Sometimes that's all I have left on a project and it can be laying unfinished for months (or years, *cough*)
I'm thinking about adding the little bow. It won't be practical, but much cuter. What do you think?

I love the black/pink combo. I chose the outer fabric to be dark so it wouldn't attract too much attention. I know it's not that flashy phone, but it's mine and I don't want to get it stolen because it shows too much, right?

Just to clarify: this is made out of fabric :)

Quilt giveaway

Have you seen this amazing quilt that is offered as blogcandy on the Marie Madeline studio? I absolutely love these fresh summery colours. I would love to make something this big, but I don't have any patience for that timeconsuming projects ;) This is my only chance to get my paws on something this beautiful. It measures 66 3/4" x 90". If you want a chance on this make sure to join before the end of the day (august 8:th)

Wedding anniversary card

Have I been having fun today or what! I have finally had a little bit of energy (or it might have something to do with the fact that I cleaned some of my corner yesterday and I could actually move in there, not sit on stamps, etc. lol). I finished THREE sewingprojects and made this card after a sketch. I really liked the sketch when I saw it the first time and then I lost track of it. I was afraid it was for an old challenge and that I wouldn't find it, but then it popped up again.

The sketch was from this weeks create 4 fun blog and here's how it looked. I got really inspired and knew just which papers I wanted to use. I had just bought a white/grey/black wedding paperstack at a 70% off sale.

The card is for my friend that got married last year. He's celebrating his first wedding anniversary and I thought it would be a nice gesture to send them a card.

I also saw a challenge somewhere where you needed to use doodling - which I did around the edges. This is my first doodling if I remember correctly. I wanted the doodling to look like the sign for "eternity" (the laying down 8) If you know which challenge has the "doodling" theme, let me know.

Stamp from rubber trouble (it was my first stamporder)

DT call at stampin' for the weekend

Stampin' for the weekend are having a DT call and I thought I'd apply :)
I know you've already seen it, but I needed to link to ONE of my favourite projects. So here it is:

My fav card for the time being is this one. It was made for a sketchchallenge and here's the sketch:

I made a pretty creative interpretation if I may say so myself. I'm very proud of this card since distressing, sewing and Magnolia aren't my specialties. I'm quite proud of the golden flower. I made the embellishment myself by stamping and embossing a red paperbrad. I also distressed the flowers to match better. The image is coloured with promarkers.

So there you have it. I hope you liked my card :)

Inky Impressions 2nd Design Team Call

The Inky impressions are having a DT call. I thought I'd try out since I've been planning to do so for a while now. I started on a beautiful altered project, but I can't finish it yet so I'll show you what it looks like now - it's almost done, but I'm waiting to get the Tim Holtz clear crackle paint to put on the lid and then I want the image on top. I've made my own embellishment from a piece of mesh fabric that I distressed.

But the official projects I'm applying with are these. It's supposed to be one favourite card and a project, so here goes:

My fav card for the time being is this one. It was made for a sketchchallenge and here's the sketch:

I made a pretty creative interpretation if I may say so myself. I'm very proud of this card since distressing, sewing and Magnolia aren't my specialties. I'm quite proud of the golden flower. I made the embellishment myself by stamping and embossing a red paperbrad. I also distressed the flowers to match better. The image is coloured with promarkers.

The other - non-card - project is a post-it holder. I absolutely love this image. I only had one since I got it from a friend. It was stamped on waterpaper (or whatever it's called) and I have coloured it with tombows and a waterbrush. It gives a totally different look than promarkers. I like both looks and these two projects show my colouringskills. I also love my cuttlebug embossing folders as you can see:)
I think these two projects show my style pretty well.

I just wanted to show you the altered box I've been making for a couple of days. The lid is lowered and I think it would look awesome with some crackled paint over the paper and then Tilda on top. I haven't yet decided where to put embellishments and how to put it all together. I didn't want to rush it since I think the box will look amazing when it's done properly. Don't you just love the old style Tilda?

With all these Tildas you might think I'm a huge Magnolia fan, but the truth is I just got my second, third fourth and fifth magnolia about 2 months ago. I guess they are really growing on me. I always thought cute animals were my fav, but it's so hard to choose now with all the cute girlstamps!
