Magnolia Christmas card

I had a great idea for the friday sketchers blog today and I just had to join even though it's after 2am! As always I'll get better pics up soon, but for now you'll have to do with this.

I've also joined the magnolia-licious highlights challenge. The theme for this week was "Christmascards". It's a little too soon for me to start thinking about X-mas cards since I only send a few, but it was fun to take out the wintery stash. I have sorted all my Christmaspapers to a seperate holder that I've put away, so it was fun to see what I had in there.

A new Magnolia blog I found the other day called Magnolia down under challenges also had "Christmas in july" as their challenge, so I'm entering there too :)

I'm very proud of my interpretation of the sketch. I might put something more in the lower right corner, but I didn't dare ruining the card with too many "not-thought-through-stuff".

I used masking on the card too that was for stampin for the weekend. I masked the gift she's holding in her hands. It's actually an easterstamp, but I masked over it. I also chopped her braids off, that's why she looks a bit like Edwin ;D

Exciting news!!!

I have managed to fulfill my second new year resolution - to get on a designteam!!! I just got a mail letting me know that I'm one of the new 5 members of sweet pea stamps. I was supposed to find out today, but haven't checked my mail until now, late evening, because I didn't have any expectations on getting accepted. So it blew my mind even more when I read the mail. I even missed the subjectline of the mail: "Welcome to Sweet Pea Design Team" , lol.

The funny thing is that the coordinator of the DT is a woman I know from a swapgroup. I haven't talked to her for a long time, but now I recognized her name. It's such a small world - especially in blogland.

Today I was in town in a scrapshop that is closing. She had 70% off, so I got some papers and more brads (My big box is overflowing, so I sense some of that will go into a blogcandy I'm planning in august. What? Is august already on saturday?! Eeeek! Now I have even more reasons to celebrate so I'm hoping to have a weekly candy or something like that). I'm really looking forward to using my new stash for the DT projects. I have bought quite a lot things lately, I'll show you later.

Anyhee - I'm totally gobsmacked and still shocked my name is on the company's homepage. Take a look HERE

YEY!!! Thanks everyone who has supported me. I also noticed I now have 37 followers. Amazing. Lots of hugs to all of you out there. Now I'm off to dreamland, but before that I'm going to shake my booty and be happy. It doesn't get much better than this :D

Five challenges in one

Today I managed to incorporate five different challenges into one card.

The first challenge (I have about an hour until the deadline, yikes) is Carols sketch fun where there was this sketch:

Second challenge is cute card thursday and they wanted you to use eyelets. It was quite a while since I used them, so it was a great challenge. I added two eyelets in the left corners for the ribbon to go through (although I didn't know it at the time ;)

Third challenge: colour create. The theme was blue and white with an optional vintage feel.

Stamp with fun wanted you to use pearls (I used both halfpearls in the corner and actually pearly bling - sneaky, sneaky)

Final challenge is roses on paper where you have to use a specific company brand - I used Sarah Kay. Their challenge was to use hearts. I used them both in the border and on the heartlock.

Stamp from Sarah Kay coloured with tombows, dies from quickutz. Borderpunch from fiskars.
