Sketch saturday - humorous card

This is what I came up with for the sketch saturday challenge this week. I barely made it because I've been springcleaning ALL day. I washed all blankets, covers, matresscovers and so on. I was so totally pooped that I dodn't have much energy to craft. I wanted to continue on my sewingproject, but I didn't dare to use the sewingmachine, lol.
I decided to make a funny and simple card instead. Concidering how tired I am I think I did ok ;)

I'm also applying to creative inspirations blog with this card. Not sure if I'm helping myself though, lol. I did have two other cards in mind, but I didn't read about the DT call soon enough :( Maybe they'll look at my other things on the blog and will choose me anyway?

My craftcorner

Carlz needs help with some inspriation to her craft area, storage etc. She has just repainted her room and I think it will look fab! It's grey and lime and from what I've seen it's mucho trendy :)
She wants to see our craftspaces and although mine is a constant work in progress I must admit I'm very proud of the shelves and birddecorations I managed to put up on my wall. I even sewed the curtain you see on the pic :) I need it to be colourful in my corner. It's very sunny and bright there and I love how the bright colours look in the sun!

She will be giving away a blogcandy, so clean up your corners, photograph them and put them up on your blogs. The candy is open until friday april 3:rd 10pm GMT.

I'm very proud of the white shelves that we put up a while ago. They hold my old jamjars (now for flowers etc.) and decorations, things that inspire me, things I've made and so on. I love it! On the wall I have put walldecos I think they are called. It's like a big sticker for the wall that you can reattach (and it doesn't ruin the wall) I'm quite happy how the corner is looking. It's very me :)

Old pic of the corner with some last minute curtains (if you can call them that) that I put up before my stepdad came to visit after we moved in. Somehow they stuck around for another year or two. It's basically a long sheer fabric tied to a curtainrod, lol. I like the new curtains better, but when my mom came to visit she wasn't impressed especially when I told her I had made them myself, lol. I don't think she will ever apreciate "homemade" stuff. I guess it reminds her of macaroni necklaces and horrible homemade 70:ies outfits :D

My "stampeater". It holds all of my woodmounted stamps. I'm totally gobsmacked that the drawers haven't broken yet, lol. This piece of furniture has plastic drawers and I got it second hand. Talk about good quality! I have 3 layers of wooden stamps in every drawer. Do I need to say this is the lifesaviour for my stamps? :D

Speaking of finding solutions for your stuff I found this terrific idea for ribbons. I tried it, but it didn't work for me. I don't have any good place for it and the place I had in mind didn't look good with it. Maybe you'll use the idea? You can see what I'm talking about HERE.

WARNING - This Tilda may cause serious mindblowing and heavy jealousy

I have to show you what I got from my easter swapping friend Julia. Boy will you regret not entering!

I am totally gobsmacked and so impressed it's just...whaaaa...I can't find the words.
The easterswap rules were to sew something for your assigned partner that you thought would fit after looking at their blogs. Since I don't have a sewingblog my partner had a bit of a challenge. But she saw that I had made a couple of Magnolia cards so you know what she did? She DESIGNED a ragdoll from a Magnolia Tilda stamp!!!! Not only did she do this but she excecuted it into perfection:

I absolutely love the colours she has chosen. They look so festive, eastery and just right for my corner. I love vibrant colours! Doesn't she look just like a Tilda from the shabby chic collection with the ribbon and all?

This is a lifesize chair she's sitting on. Can you imagine the work she put into it?! She even made a little tag that says that the doll is especially made for me!

She even sewed a petbunny for the doll:

And if that wasn't enough she made this birdhanging from some of the scraps - casually just like that. Like it's not hard at all.

I also got a decoration bunny and a chocolatechick (that is currently missing her head, lol)

Everything was giftwrapped seperately in pretty easterpaper. I didn't photograph it because I was so excited about opening my gift. I had picked it up at the PO a couple of days earlier but didn't open it since I wasn't sure if we were going to open our gifts "together". I opened the birdies first and was very happy with the gift. But they weren't even the main gift! I feel slightly ashamed over the one I sent to my partner (it wasn't the same that I had gotten my gift from). I'm happy about how my gift turned out too, but it was nothing like this! I really hit the jackpot! It's like a huge blogcandy turned into one. I won't complain now that I haven't won any blogcandies after entering dussins of them, lol.

If you are a Magnoliafan, please spread the word - I want everyone to come by and see this amazing work of art! I have put the doll in my corner so I can look at her every time I craft.

Oh, and I have officially named her Julia - after her maker :)

Blueish card again

I needed to make a late birthday card for my mom's husband because I didn't send one on time. Then they went away for vacation and I decided to call and congratulate him instead, but they were out of the hotelroom so I never did. And then I sort of forgot *blushing*. So I thought I'd make it up to him by making him a belated card and admitting my forgetfulness. I feel so sorry for him because even his own son didn't call him on his b-day. I hope this will cheer him up.

I used a sketch I found at 2 sketches 4 you and a really fun themed challenge called "quilt" on roses on paper. I had so much fun making this card and now you know what you can do with all the scraps! The card measures 10,5x14cm.

Jewelrymaking place

Some of you might know that I'm also a jewelrymaker and I have found this place:

Facettsthlm is a place for Swedish jewelrymakers where they meet and inspire eachother. Every year they have a big gettogether and they also have a forum where you can get ideas and tips on your jewelryprojects. Everything is in Swedish though, just so you know :)

A perfect place to start if you're a jewelrymaking loon.

Just X-mas and b-day cards challenge 24

This week on Christmas and birthday cards challenge blog there was a slightly different sketch. I had just gotten THIS beautiful bird stampset in the mail and thought I'd try it out. I wanted to make something more "stampy" and not just use flowers as decorations for the circles.

I used my CB rings/circles in different sizes to cut out the circles. The birds are stamped with chalk ink. Papers are torn and distressed and that's it. I wanted to make a card that didn't take 2 days, lol. I like the slightly vintage look. Maybe that's what I'll explore next...After the previous b-day card I feel like I can do anything! :)
